Chrysanthemum Petals

At Mystic, we love working with chrysanthemums because they are such powerful and vibrant flowers that exude a joyful energy. These beautiful flowers come in a variety of colors, from yellow to pink to purple, and are known for their ability to uplift and brighten moods.

When working with chrysanthemums, focus on their healing properties, which include boosting the immune system, promoting relaxation, and reducing stress and anxiety. By incorporating chrysanthemums into energy healing practice, you able to feel more centered and balanced.

Chrysanthemums have a way of opening up the heart chakra, which is the center of love and compassion. By encouraging the flow of energy in this area, chrysanthemums can help people feel more connected to their emotions and to the world around them.

Our Chrysanthemum comes in a sealable bag with a weight of 9 grams (0.35oz), and was packaged with gloves. We recommend doing a skin test to make sure you are not allergic if you plan on using Chrysanthemum topically.

Ancient Use of Chrysanthemum:

In ancient China, they were seen as a symbol of nobility and longevity, and even used in divination and medicine! Plus, they were connected to the element of water, which is all about emotions and intuition - perfect for all us energy healers out there!

Chrysanthemums were also used in ancient Egypt in funeral rites and believed to have a connection to the afterlife. In Greece, they were associated with Demeter, the goddess of harvest and fertility, and used in celebrations of the autumnal equinox.

In Japan, chrysanthemums are a BIG deal and even the national flower! They have an entire festival called "Kiku no Sekku" to honor their beauty and significance. Fun fact: they were first cultivated in the 8th century and became a symbol of the Imperial Family - you can even find them on the Imperial Seal of Japan!

In the Middle Ages in Europe, chrysanthemums were believed to have medicinal properties and could even ward off evil spirits. And during Victorian England, they were all the rage as ornamental plants and featured in all sorts of gardens and flower arrangements. Plus, in Korea, they've been used for centuries in traditional tea ceremonies and are believed to promote longevity and health.

How to Use Chrysanthemum in a Spell or Ritual:

Materials needed:

  • Dried chrysanthemum flowers
  • Small bowl or dish
  • Candle (preferably yellow or white)
  • Matches or lighter

Begin by setting up your ritual space. You can do this by lighting candles, burning incense, or setting up a small altar. Open a circle and call in your guardians and the directions if that is a part of your practice. Make sure you have all your materials within reach.

Take the dried chrysanthemum flowers and place them in a small bowl or dish. As you do this, focus on your intention of inviting positive energy into your life. Visualize yourself surrounded by a bright, uplifting light and feel the positive energy flowing through you.

Light the candle and place it near the bowl of chrysanthemums. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and connect with the energy of the flame.

Using your hands, gently mix the chrysanthemum flowers in the bowl while repeating the following affirmation or any other positive affirmation that resonates with you: "I am surrounded by positive energy and love. My life is filled with joy and abundance."

As you mix the flowers, feel the energy of the chrysanthemums and the flame of the candle filling the space with positivity and light. You can also visualize this positive energy spreading out into the world around you.

Once you feel like the flowers are fully infused with your intention, blow out the candle and take a few moments to soak up the positive energy. You can also leave the bowl of chrysanthemums on your altar or in a special place in your home to continue attracting positive energy.

This ritual craft using dried chrysanthemums is a simple and effective way to invite positive energy into your life. You can do this ritual as often as you like, especially when you need a boost of positivity and light.
